
SCALE Franchise Systems is a holistic way of franchising your business that provides you with ALL the jigsaw puzzle pieces you need. You will learn the key components and how to achieve them for you and your future franchisees.
SCALE consists of 12 video modules which will be available for you to watch in your own time 24/7 from the course start date. The modules vary in length but average around 45 minutes.
Every module is written and presented by multi award winning franchisor and consultant Jo Middleton. Jo walks the walk and doesn’t just talk the talk, having franchised her own businesses and also used the SCALE Franchise System with many clients to set them up for success in the franchising world. The course runs for 3 months and requires an average of 4 hours study per week. You will choose your own hours and how you organise your time and so this is purely a guide.

MODULE 1 - Operation Manuals
How to write your Operations Manual (the nuts and bolts of successfully running your business) and what to include to set your franchisees up to successfully run your business in their areas without watering it down or compromising your business.
MODULE 2 - Territory Mapping
What can and can't be done by a franchisee in their territory (the area you allow them to run their business in) and how to map out territories successfully.
MODULE 3 - Franchise Prospectuses
First impressions count and this is often the first detailed information someone interested in becoming a franchisee will see. You will learn exactly what to include to make this best of this invaluable resource.
MODULE 4 - Franchisee Training Plan
Building the correct system to train your new franchisees means that you will be doing the leg work once and you can roll it out time and time again.
MODULE 5 - Onboarding Franchisees
This is a golden nugget that I see consistently under achieved. Having a robust onboarding process including all the elements in this module will help them hit the ground running and expedite your franchisees becoming brand advocates.
MODULE 6 - Business Plans and Forecasts
Building out the business plans and cashflow forecasts not just for your head office franchise business but also for your prospective franchisees too.
MODULE 7 - Where to Find Franchisees
Profiling your ideal franchisees using my 4 P's system and accurately finding where they hang out online and offline in bulk so you can get in front of them in groups.
MODULE 8 - Franchise Community
The importance of a community for you, your franchisees and your prospective franchisees and how to build them successfully.
MODULE 9 - Franchisor Marketing Strategy
Building a robust marketing strategy, defining your franchise business long-term goals and how to expedite them through your distinct and sustainable marketing strategy.
MODULE 10 - Franchisee Recruitment Strategy
Building your franchisee sales funnel and what to incorporate on Discovery Days.
MODULE 11 - Legalities and Contracts
What exactly each legal document in franchising is and when you need them during your franchising journey.
MODULE 12 - Evaluation
What to measure, how to get the right feedback and incorporate it to grow your franchise whilst maintaining your wellbeing and work/life balance.
At the end of the course, there is the option to complete an exam to achieve CPD accredited and certified franchisor status. You will hold a certificate in franchising from a recognised and trusted awarding body. This certification demonstrates expertise and commitment to prospective franchisees. It lowers their risk and builds trust increasing your selling power and ultimately the growth of your franchise business.
The exam is not timed and simply needs to be completed within 28 days of the course end date. The goal is to evidence understanding of the course content, which remains at your disposal throughout the process.
You will also have access to all the course materials for 2 years after your start date to enable you to revisit the information as and when you find it helpful to do so.

While you complete the course, there are optional group Zoom drop-in support sessions every 3 weeks. These give you a chance to ask questions (or submit them in advance if you’re unable to attend) along the way.
These sessions will be facilitated by Debs Gersohn from the Children’s Franchise Enterprise. A former franchisor herself, Debs has created a platform dedicated to the children’s sector and works with franchisors at any stage of their franchise journey.
Every participant will also be entitled to 3 x 45 minutes individual support sessions with Debs. These can be taken during the course or anytime up to 12 months from the course start date.
Course Fees and Flexible Ways to Pay
The total course fee is £2497.
Payments can be made by BACS or debit/credit card via PayPal (you do not need an account and can use the guest checkout). There is the option to split the payments over 4 or 12 months. With this, there is a slight increase in the overall fee in order to cover the additional admin time.

The next SCALE course will begin the week of Monday 17th March 2025. That week you will have an introductory session at a time that suits you.
